“I will be working with a program for former glue-sniffing street children. It serves more than 200 children in residential programs. Many of the girls who live on the farm were at risk of falling into prostitution”.

Nour El-Youssef

The donation from The Sutasoma Trust has enabled Haverford College to offer increased support for academic research connected to important global issues.

This year, the fund supported Ms Nour El-Youssef from Minnesota. Nour spent ten weeks as a volunteer with an organisation dedicated to the empowerment of street children in Nicaragua.

In addition to providing academic support to the children, she also conducted research on the issues of street children in Nicaragua as part of her academic work in anthropology.
